What is the main aim of our daily lives, what should we be striving for, and how can we keep peace and patience within us as we work towards larger personal goals? One short and simple way is to always look to bring goodness to everything that you do.
Whether it be within your team at work or with a set of peers at school, there is always an opportunity to spread goodness. Whilst there are larger goals in the works like gaining a promotion or getting good grades, you should always keep your focus on God’s work. Personal success always comes secondary to success of a team or community as a whole. The greatest people are the ones that not only strive for their own success, but use their talents and skills to inspire, support and empower others to achieve the goals of the community.
Personal success always comes secondary to success of a team or community as a whole.
So, what exactly is God’s work? One example is mentioned above, but there are many – many more than I can fit on this page. However, God’s work is also not strictly defined, it actually has quite a bit of freedom to it, it’s almost fluid. Why is this?, you ask… We all have been given a free will, a creative mind, as well as an array of talents and skills.
God’s work is also not strictly defined, it actually has quite a bit of freedom to it, it’s almost fluid.
Our thoughts, ambitions, values and visions are all different and unique. So when I refer to God’s work, what I mean is this; Each morning, you should sit with God in prayer, and ask him to work within you, as you promise to let him take control, and to allow him to direct you. God already knows about all of these talents, skills, ambitions etc, so by allowing him to take control and having complete faith and trust in his plan for you, you are ultimately placing yourself in a position where you have the greatest chance of reaching your full potential. God knows how to get the best out of you.
So, God’s work is nothing specific, but when you allow God to influence your free will, you will find yourself doing all sorts of great things, like being generous with your time to help others with their development, avoiding daily temptations, as well as achieve a quiet patient peace with you. Your conscience will direct your decision-making, just make sure your mind state places God at the root of everything.
As you allow God to take control, you will find yourself moving toward personal success, but over time you too will value the success of the community over you own personal success. Engage in God’s work, he secretly knows what’s in store for you already.
Always,
~ Adam, 2021

Thanks for the kind words Jennifer! That’s exactly right, the more we let him in, the greater we can achieve.
