There are a lot of times in our life when we will be unsure and this can manifest into insecurity and fear. But, why do we shy away from what can actually help us to grow? On the other side of fear is an unimaginable freedom – a freedom that says we are capable of far more than we first thought.
I challenge you to survey your life and identify the opportunities that you have always doubted your capabilities or worthiness towards. These are things you need to pursue, the one’s that will challenge you to change into a better person.
The truth is, if we want to achieve any sense of fulfilling improvement, we must be willing to risk the loss of who we are now, for the potential that who can become in the future is far better.

It might be starting your mornings earlier, and the fear is that you might wake up and be more tired for no particular reason. It might be risking the loss of sleep in the short term. But do you truly know this unless you try? We often come up with these dramatic potential outcomes in our mind that negatively overshadow experiences that are more likely to be positive experiences than not. We have to stop being afraid before we’ve even begun to try.
Getting up earlier is tough in the beginning, especially when it’s cold outside and all you want to do is snuggle up in bed. But, I promise you this – challenging yourself to face situations that you thought were not worth the effort will teach you that they are. Getting up early will become easier of course over time, but that’s not the main benefit. The main benefit is that you will add more time to your day.
You will be able to attack the tasks of your day with patience, knowing that you have so much more time ahead of you. You won’t be rushing to get things done at the end of the day right before you’re due for sleep. You won’t be panicking or anxious that you might not meet critical deadlines. You will be able to achieve the tasks of your day early and with more patience – and with patience comes consistency and precision – the fruits of your growth.
And the beautiful thing about it, if you get to the end of your tasks and you still have energy before your allocated sleep time – you get to engage in leisurely pursuits that you are passionate about and this will boost your sense of self control and direction, a key to pushing you towards feelings of fulfilment.
There’s so many way this can be applied, and your sleep schedule is just one of them. Survey your life and scope out opportunities that seem tough from the outside, but have the potential to be soft and mushy on the inside.
Don’t be afraid of the unknown.
