I made a post last year emphasising the importance of acceptance on a day such as today. Acceptance of the fact that you are where you need to be and the realisation that you having everything you need right now.
Feelings of loneliness might be challenging to face, but they should empower you – not to rush into a relationship that’s not good for you, but to propel you towards growth that will change you for the better. I think the whole point of being alone is the world trying to tell us that we’re required for some greater personal work than a romantic relationship could currently give us.
The whole point of being alone is the world trying to tell us that we’re required for some greater personal work than a romantic relationship could currently give us.
As the universe does its work, we find that lengthier periods away from romantic relationships indicates that we need to look deeper into the other relationships that we currently have. We need to appreciate the love we share with our mother, our father, our brother, our sister, and be contented in them. The love we learn to exercise with others before we enter a romantic relationship, holds a valuable key in developing our skills for a future romantic relationship (whenever that might come).
A point to reconsider, is this idea that you attract what you become. I touched on it in last year’s article, but I think it’s important to share again:
If we continue to work on ourselves in our times of loneliness and present a stronger version of ourselves we will begin to attract stronger relationships. If we become more confident in ourselves, we will attract others that are confident in themselves too – if we begin to show compassion, we will attract those that truly value compassion. So go after whatever makes your heart tick and makes you a more loving person, and you will attract the same.
Spending Valentines Day Alone (Part 1)
Don’t let your heart skip a beat this Valentines day because you are worth so much. Truly believe it and love yourself because it’s this relationship with yourself that will be the reasoning that you find a future relationship with someone whom you can grow with. They will push you to be better, and you will do the same for them.
Challenge yourself to grow and don’t be afraid of the hard work required on a consistent basis to create lasting change. I believe in you!
This Valentines day build a better you, and show appreciation for those you love around you.
