We can find decorated through the history books are common message that continues to shine through. If you don’t make the effort to ask the universe for what you want you will never have it. This does not mean only ‘asking’ in the literal sense with your words, but asking in the form of action towards what you desire and asking with prayer. Let’s take a deeper look into Matthew verse 7, which explores this idea.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

If you don’t make the effort to ask the universe for what you want you will never have it.

What we learn from this is that life will be a continuing series of seeking and exploring the uncertain in order to attain something we do not yet have (whatever you might desire). Put simply, our actions must match our intentions. If we’re not fully focused on our goal, as if our life depends on it, we can be almost certain that we will not achieve it. You might ask, ‘but I’ve achieved goals before that I haven’t really focused on’ and my answer to that is, ‘your goals were not big enough, they didn’t challenge you to the point where you felt like giving up’. As mentioned in previous articles, your goals need to be “big, fat and difficult to comprehend – even a bit stupendous”. If we’re hoping to grow (that’s where fulfilment lies) we need to be testing our limits and improving our capabilities.

If we’re not fully focused on our goal, as if our life depends on it, we can be almost certain that we will not achieve it.

What’s important to note is that we’re never actually given a timeline on how long this ‘asking’ and ‘seeking’ and ‘knocking’ will have to continue before we actually receive what we desire. What we can take from this, and you might have personal experience to back this up – the harder and more difficult goals are the ones that require the longest periods of asking, seeking and knocking – often to no avail.

When you set such a big goals there is no certainty that you will achieve them.

When you set such a big goals there is no certainty that you will achieve them. However, if goal achievement was always certain everybody would be doing it and achieving great things. What the greatest achievers of history all share is a belief and faith in their plan of attack – they truly believe long before anyone else that what they are attempting to achieve is possible – and they follow their plan as if their life depends on it – they continue to build momentum along the way. They must keep asking, they must keep seeking and they must continue to knock until the doors falls down – cause maybe there is nobody on the other side waiting to open it – maybe you’ve gotta knock that sh*t down yourself.

The last 2 cents is this, no matter what you’re doing right now or where you are – if you have a goal that you’re ready to dedicate your life to (we all have one in my opinion) then take action right now. Whether that means taking an hour’s break from work to write out a plan of attack or going home from work early, you gotta do it. As soon as you feel attached to a goal there’s this sense of immediacy and urgency that surrounds you. You’ve gotta get stuff done now – cause now could be all you have.

Always,
